SCRRA - Marine Way Grade Separation

Experience Highlights

Southern California Regional Rail Authority (SCRRA) - Marine Way Grade Separation

BACKGROUND:

The Metrolink Marine Way Grade Separation Project is located in Irvine, California, where the Metrolink commuter rail tracks intersect Marine Way at an at-grade crossing. This intersection has led to safety concerns, traffic delays, and inefficient flow due to train crossings. The project aims to address these issues by improving the transportation infrastructure and promoting better traffic management in the region. .

KEY OBJECTIVES:

  • Eliminate the at-grade rail-road crossing to improve safety for both rail passengers and road users.
  • Reduce traffic delays caused by train crossings, enhancing the overall flow of traffic.

KEY FEATURES:

  • Construction of an elevated rail bridge to separate the Metrolink tracks from Marine Way traffic.
  • Realignment and adjustments to roadways to accommodate the new grade separation.
  • Improved traffic flow and reduced delays at the intersection.
  • Integration with existing regional transportation systems to support overall connectivity.
